Wondayferam Gemeda is a deputy nutrition cluster/ENCU coordinator in Ethiopia. He has been in this position for the last two and half years. He is leading the Nutrition Information Working Group which is responsible for planning of standard and rapid nutrition assessment, review of protocols and results. He managed to coordinate the execution of 11 SMART+ surveys in the year including the recently completed one in Tigray covering the entire region. He has significantly contributed to the improvement of the SMART digital application by providing inputs during the pilot and actual implementation.
Prior to assuming the cluster coordination position, Wondayferam worked for UNICEF Ethiopia as a nutrition officer and specialist for over a decade in different regions of Ethiopia including Tigray, Oromia, Amhara and SNNP where he had overseen implementation of emergency and developmental nutrition activities.
Wondayferam holds MPH from the School of Public Health, Addis Ababa University.
