Marijka (Malaika) van Klinken currently works within the Nutrition in Emergency team of WFP HQ as a nutrition information systems and early warning specialist. She is a co-lead in the implementation of the NuVAC (Nutrition Vulnerability Assessment in Crisis) joint initiative, co-led by UNICEF and WFP, which aims to strengthen frameworks for analysing and communicating nutritional vulnerability in fragile and conflict situations. Alongside this, Malaika works on strengthening the integration of nutrition information in the early warning systems of WFP. Prior to WFP she was in the field with ICRC in nutrition and operational research. She holds a master’s in public health nutrition as well as a master’s degree in Psychology.
