Jana is a highly accomplished nutritionist and public health professional with extensive international experience spanning over a decade.

Her expertise lies in managing, implementing and evaluating programs in the fields of nutrition, infectious disease epidemiology, and digital innovations (mHealth/eHealth) in Africa, Asia, the Americas, and the Middle East.

In 2017, Jana joined the SMART team, where she has played a pivotal role in building the capacity of various international organizations and governmental agencies across the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. She has supported partners in implementating population-level surveys using the SMART methodology. Jana is also the creator and the Global Lead of the innovative SMART+ infrastructure.

Jana’s academic background includes a BSc in Nutrition and Dietetics from the American University of Beirut and a MSc in Public Health with a focus on Epidemiology from McGill University. This, combined with her wealth of professional experience, has provided her with a deep understanding of the complex challenges facing global public health.
